Dr. Saba Khokhar, MD is a dual board-certified physician licensed in Massachusetts and Arizona, with expert focus on Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease Medicine, specializing in adult and geriatric medical populations.
Dr. Khokhar completed her doctoral education and graduated medical school in 2001 before going on to complete medical residency in 2010 at Sinai Hospital of Detroit in Detroit, MI. Following completion of her residency program, Dr. Saba Khokhar, MD successfully received Board Certification in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine, this would be the first of two distinct Board Certifications which she would go on to hold.
Thereafter, Dr. Khokhar began her fellowship program at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, which she went on to complete in 2013. After completion of this fellowship program, Dr. Khokhar went on to receive Board Certification in Infectious Disease Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine, also in 2013.
In her early career, Dr. Khokhar spent time throughout the undergraduate and post-graduate years in Pakistan, where she ultimately completed her initial medical training and education. During this time, Dr. Khokhar was exposed to an abundance of infectious disease and oversaw diagnostics, treatment and clinical research. Later on, in her training years as a medical resident in Detroit, Dr. Khokhar was further exposed to an array of complicated and chronic illnesses, allowing her unique opportunities to explore extensive, thorough and innovative approaches to diagnosis and treatment.
After completing the Infectious Disease fellowship program, Dr. Khokhar began practicing Primary Care, Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease medicine in Massachusetts, where she has taken immense pride in an innate ability to diagnose and treat large populations, guided by her knowledge and the application of her own expert opinion.
Moreover, Dr. Khokhar’s successful impact is clearly defined through her work on cases related to skin and soft tissue infections, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pneumonias, bone and joint infections, and complicated central nervous system (CNS) / spinal infections. Dr. Khokhar has also worked closely on cases of common bacterial infections, viral infections, including COVID-19, fungal infections, and undiagnosed cases related to atypical pathogens and bacterial organisms.
In addition, Dr. Khokhar is also extremely passionate about her work in providing care to patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, skin rashes, and post-exposure cases.
